Abstract: Rhinophyma is chronic edema with unilateral or bilateral irregular exophytic growth in the nasal region. The study aimed to report a case of rhinophyma, a rare benign pathology in a 58-year-old male patient. The study presents a rhinophyma case in the left nasal hemilate. The patient received surgical treatment with a diamond burr, performed in the second half of 2020. The electronic databases Pubmed/Medline were used to select articles in English for subject discussion. Surgical treatment was recommended and performed by the skin and nasal sebaceous gland excision with a round diamond burr and dermabrasion to correct the superficial abnormalities with a sedative associated with a local anaesthetic. After the surgery, the respiratory discomfort was solved, and the patient was satisfied with his aesthetic appearance, restoring his self-esteem. Rifomine is a rare disease, but when it strikes the patient, it generates low self-esteem besides physiological and aesthetic problems. The diamond burr is a surgical instrument indicated for rhinophyma treatment.
