Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of Extracorporeal Shock-Wave Therapy (ESWT) in men with chronic heel spur (HS). Continuous research was done in the period from January 2011 to October 2013, and involved 52 men, 42-59 years old. The pain level was evaluated according Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Physiotherapists examined patients before, just after it, 3 and 6 months after its completion. ESWT successively decreased pain and such a tendency continued for up to 6 months after the last ESWT session. The observed differences were statistically significant on p = 0.000 level, in men with chronic HS.
