Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a rare malignant tumour, which the otorhinolaryngologist should know well and always keep in mind. Characteristics of this tumour are indicated and its close correlation with the Epstein-Barr virus is remembered. A case of a late diagnosis is presented. It represents the emblem of everything that should not be done, but that has been done with this particular patient.
