Dr Tassos Koulaouzidis qualified in Medicine in Greece and completed his postgraduate and specialist training in Greece and England. He has been an Associate Specialist in Gastroenterology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh since 2009.
He is an active GI clinician with a focus on General (lumenal) Gastroenterology. His subspecialty interest is in capsule endoscopy, device assisted enteroscopy, anaemia and microscopic colitis. His endoscopic practice includes upper and lower GI endoscopy and device assisted (double-balloon) endoscopy. He has presented and published articles in the fields of capsule endoscopy, anemia, microscopic colitis and spontaneous bacterial peritonitis as well as several case studies. Current research projects include 3D reconstruction, lesion localisation hardware development for capsule endoscopy and artificial neural networks in capsule endoscopy.
